If you are refusing to renew for next season if Alex McLeish is manager. Please leave a comment stating your name and the reasons why. I shall be sending the link of this page to to Paul Faulkner so he is left in doubt the way fans of Aston Villa are feeling right now.
EDIT: Email sent to Paul Faulkner this morning with link to this page

Alex McLeish’s tactics would get Man Utd relegated, it won’t be long before were in the championship.
I had planned on renewing this season, I’d even applied for the monthly renewal pack which I have already received in the post. I am however putting off completing the form and putting it in the post. There are a number of reasons for my hesitation. Yes, it is a lot of money, but I’ve found it before. Yes, we are no longer a major force in the premiership, but I’ve been down in more turmoiled times than these. I think the crux of the matter is clearly the running of the club. Alex Mcleish was a bizzare appointment, we gave him a chance (despite what the media says) and he’s failed. Our worst season since I can remember, but it’s not the results that bother me. It’s the complete lack of care and understanding from the club of its fans. Villa fans have been numbed this season of what they are watching and nothing seems to be being done about it. So until the club seem to start caring again, seems to start listening to its fans and seems to start building a future instead of merely surviving I will continue to hesitate with my purchasing of my ticket. I love the club, but it’s letting me down.
I have been a season ticket holder for many years and, like many, have followed the club from the first game in the old 3rd Division, to Rotterdam. I have experienced many highs and lows- but nothing compares with the despair surrounding the club right now. I would love to know what thought process from Mr Faulkner saw us chase Roberto Martinez- and then switch to his polar opposite in McLeish.
Yes, we sold our best players, but still had enough quality, not to mention the millions wasted on N’Zogbia and Hutton (what would Pardew, Rodgers or Lambert have done with that money?).
The board are hoping that the current storm will subside- and they can quietly allow McLeish to stay. Wrong! I will not set foot in Villa Park again, nor will my 3 sons- until he has gone, preferably taking Faulkner with him, who has been the silent assassin behind the current demise.
Just read your comment friend..You hit the nail straight on the head with the comments about RM being a polar opposite to McLeish. I’d love to know the same mate. How could those with power at VP go from someone like Martinez to McLeish? I still think our best way forward is by getting a coach/manager who will get the technical side of every plyrs game up to the standard required to compete in the top6 again to begin with. Martinez, Rodgers or POYET would easliy get the team we have now in the top6 clubs in ENG. I believe we have players good enough right now to do well in the EPL. Maybe a sitting midfielder is needed and he wouldn’t cost the earth either. The problem with McLeish is he will not accept his failings. He used excuse after excuse all year but the thing is we played with more spirit when the young lads came in. It was our young players who have got pts to keep us up. I don’t believe the senior players would have done it themselves even if fully fit. McLeish is a shockingly bad manager and he has to fall on the axe. He kept talking about the injury list and Stan Petrovs illness but the fact remains we played terrible football when we had a full strength squad anyways..McLeish has to go and the sooner the better..The 3 managers named have to be in the frame for me. I’m not a big fan of Lambert because of his links to MON but I would put my hands up if I got it wrong. I’ve watched Norwich a few times and they play a similar counter attacking style to us when MON was at VP. I just think we need a manager who will bring possession football like any of the 3 men named..They are definitely our best way forward looking at it from the longterm scenario/view..Up The Villa! MCLEISHOUTNOW!
already renewed season tickets but i will not be spending 1 penny at villa park this season! every year i buy myself and my boys a kit from the shop, i buy loads of merchandise and the money i spend in the stadium itself! no more!
Whilst Lerner, Mcleish and Faulkner are still at VP i will be not be renewting my ST, all three have not got a clue, we are a MASSIVE club and teams now look at us as a less than average PL side that will just survive each year, this is not good enough for a club of our stature. MCLEISH FAULKNER LERNER OUT !!!! You are wrecking our club, Give it us back !!!! AVFC UTV
I will not be renewing my season ticket this year because I have had enough of watching boring football ,negative tactics. My club that I have supported for 24 years (season ticket for 5years) is going down the drain ….
I along with 3 others will not be renewing until the ginger twat is sacked!
Simples
I am not wasting £500 of my hard earned money to watch the negative football Alex McLeish delivers week in week out. Its really hard for me not to renew has like everyone here Aston Villa FC is a massive part of our lives but i refuse to sit & watch another season like this. Its not a one off season for McLeish its every single club he has been to he has failed. Rangers top 2 every year without fail but the year of him in charge they finish 3rd the 1st time the end up out the top 2. Birmingham City says it all 2 relegation’s. Im sorry but not just renewing the club will not see another penny of mine until he’s gone. He should never have been appointed but yet again Lerner & Faulkner think they know more about the club then its true fans. Just please all 3 pack up, sell up & give us our Aston Villa back
Will not renew with this “manager” in charge. After nearly 30 years of attending Villa Park I feel that the club only see me/us as a statistic on their income sheet or else they wouldn’t have appointed a proven, negative man in the first place. This season has even been worse than 86/87.
Do the right thing for OUR club & tell this man to resign so he doesn’t take a single penny more than his already overpaid salary of £2m per year from us.
Then we will come back.
Simple really.
I were supposed to move from Norway to Birmingham and get a ST for me and my girfriend. This has been a dream from me as long as I can remember. Thanks to McLeish, Faulkner and Lerner, I will not do that. It pains me to say that I will not follow my dream as long as the situation is at is today.
i was going to get my frist st but now mctwat is staying i am not going to waste my money an watching boarding football i can go to the park and watch the kid play better football
just phoned the villa ticket office to enquire about the cheap £295 season tickets and theres still loads left….they havent even sold the one thousand of those tickets yet…i wonder how many season tickets across the board they have sold it must be very low….DO NOT BUY ANY SEASON TICKETS OR ANYTHING ASTON VILLA UNTIL THE BOARD SACK MCLEISH!!
I’ve been a Villa fan or 32 years and seen the highs & lows, never had a season ticket because of work, family and where I live but want one now for me & my twins, but not whilst McLeish is here with his dull negative football, no tickets or merchandise until this clown is out of our club.
There are 4 of us in the Upper Holte not renewing. We renewed last season, but that was the only thing we spent money on. All season we’ve done no kit, programmes, food, drink, bets, and stayed our of the Holte Suite, as we usually go in before and after each game. All 4 of us are now refusing to play any part in bankrolling any more of Faulkner’s and Lerner’s idiotic decisions. That’s 4 adult season tickets not being renewed, so a loss of 2k to the club just from us.
We did write to Lerner to explain our position and make enquiries as to his thought process and future plans. Unfortunately he was ‘too busy’ ( doing what exactly I dont know) to reply. I bet he’s not too busy to start sending the desperate begging letters through our doors like last season though.
well done mate..I know it must be a hard decision not getting your ST but you are doing the right thing. I think the fact that LERNER doesn’t even bother to reply to fans like you and your mates shows how disrespectful a man he is to the fans..I never trusted LERNER and he’s showing his true colours now, eh? KEEP THE FAITH..
4 adult season tickets not being renewed in the upper holte. That’s a 2k loss to the club. How long before the desperate begging letters like last season start coming through my door?
I will not be renewing mainly due to the fact the football being played is pathetic.
In renewing I would be condoning the horrendous decision in appointing a twice relegated manager .
The whole experice of a match day is poor to say the least ,poor quality of food, poor service and poor football.
Either had a season ticket or attended virtually every game since i was about 12 – now 38. Used to attend all away games, even went to all the away UEFA Cup games in the late 90s.
But i refused to renew my season ticket last season on the back of us employing McLeish.
The thought of having to suffer the negative/non-existent tactics we heard the blues fans complain about for years was too much, so i reluctantly made a stand and didn’t attend a single game in a season for the first time in ~26 years.
This was difficult but i stood by my word., my principles are more important to me than being a blind sheep and following the crowd and becoming another AVFC consumer.
So if he stays in charge next season I will not be renewing again, and the sad thing is, i think i have got used to not going to VP (something i thought i’d never say) and enjoy spending extra time with my young family. So I may be lost for ever. Which is a shame as i was looking forward to taking my son to his first games at VP.
Mr Wazzman
I have posted many emails to the powers that be at Villa Park all season and only had one reply. I have not swore or been abusive to anyone, I have obviously like any sane person (Not only AVFC fans) queried the most bizarre appointment ever in English football when McLeish was announced, I think the reason I have not received an answer is quite simply that it NOW cannot be defended by anyone in the higher echelons of all at B6 VP.
I have returned my ST’s to Miss Nicola Keye and also enclosed a McLeish out flyer and asked NOT to be contacted by the sales department unless/until McLeish has been relieved of his duties at VP along with his 1st team coach Peter Grant who like McLeish is a master of being RELEGATED. I have followed the club since 1960 when at 5yrs I had my 1st ST. I have followed the club all over the world inc The West Indies, The USA & Europe inc May 1982. I can now say hand on heart that I will never set foot into VP again or ever buy any merchandise from the club I have also put two Aston Villa vehicle number plates up for sale as I NO longer wish to be identified as a Villa fan. The club has stripped itself off all decency in alienating us fans and ostracising us from the club. We are the life and heartbeat of this institution and I feel betrayed and deeply hurt and saddened. I can’t actually describe how low I feel it’s all new to me feeling this bad. Surely the club are receiving hundreds if not thousands of emails daily from disgruntled fans. My 2 sons will also not be renewing nor any of the ST holders who sit with us in the lower North Stand.
I will renew immediately the day McLeish is sacked !! But it MUST be before the start of the new season and the new manager has time to work the squad and install confidence as at this moment the team has NO heartbeat NO passion NO guidance NO flair No Clues NO ideas and NO leadersip at the helm.
Please heed the warnings we are all aiming at you Mr Faulkner/Lerner Miss Keye.
You have the clubs lifeblood ready to walk and never to return to our beloved VP.
MrWazzman
I have sent at least 2 emails every week for the last 2 years my friend. Even though we lost many games under Gerard Houllier at least we played a more attacking style of football while also trying to keep more possession. Our players were easily the fittest they’ve been in years under GH also. Some of the senior players fought tooth and nail with him and I believe it cost us many more wins last year but that’s the past. I sent emails every week telling the club how happy I was to see our young players playing in the 1st team and playing a more attractive style of football aswell. I was very happy with GH in all honesty my friend. Many Villans didn’t want him either but I saw a lot of changes of heart by the end of the season with GH as manager. Many fans grew to like him even though he made some really bad mistakes, Anfield? I think many fans fell out with him cos of the Anfield thing last year but he was getting a lot of things right off the pitch. If you watch any of the games from xmas onwards our players were so bloody fit it beggared belief how they could not be like that all the time in previous years. Under MON our players were out on their feet by 60mins in every game, if I recall it right. GH changed that mind set in the club but I see it back again now with McLeish. He is the worst manager in our history. Of course he is and he has to go asap. The problem for us as Villans is we’ve been alienated by those in power at VP. They have used the media to strangle us by the throat all season because Eck is somehow loved by everyone. I don’t understand how a manager with his record can get away scott free. This idea that we don’t have a good enough squad to finish higher than WBA, WIGAN, SWANSEA, NORWICH, FULHAM,etc is beyond stupid. We have a good enough squad imo but the problem has been McLeish’s bad management of the players and the tactics employed all season. If we had MARTINEZ, RODGERS Or LAMBERT I would bet my life that the squad at Villa now would get in the top6/7 clubs. It’s all about the style of football imo. The players we have plus the young players coming through would get on much better with a coach that brings possession football with him as a style of play. Keeping possession in the EPL is so important now when the finances are so tight at the club. Why is it that LERNER cannot see that? Is he so stupid? I don’t think so but there is some serious problems when an owner completely marginalises the fans for the sake of his own EGO. LERNER got it so wrong and he’s so stubborn that he will not admit it. He’s the next target for the fans imo. He’s the one who created this whole mess right from the beginning of his tenure at VP. Yes MON brought some success but we won nothing, didn’t do well in EUROPE and we were saddled with a bunch of useless players on massive contracts who were never good enough to be at AVFC in the 1st place. LERNER is solely responsible for it all imo. He needs to be less egotistical and come down off his high horse now and admit he made monumental mistakes from the beginning of his time with us. If he doesn’t see his own failings then we are heading for more trouble again next year with it only getting worse year on year. LERNER thinks throwing money at the cracks in the foundations will solve the problems but it will not. It’s too late now I’m afraid.
What we need to do is start again and build a sustainable model that can bring success with it. It would mean bringing in the best coaches in the world and give them the power to sort out the stuctures at the club . By that I mean bringing a real identity to our club. A top coach would radically change the whole football philosophy at our club for the longterm. I’m ranting again but I just can’t drop this idea. We have to build from scratch again cos the previous short term methods/fixes didn’t work and we have to bring about a new vision for the longterm future of our club. I don’t think LERNER has the vision to do it though which makes it very difficult for the club to look any further than the year ahead everytime…It hasn’t worked and it’s now time to change the club completely. If you look at where Arsenal were b4 WENGER took over? They were in limbo but he completely changed the whole philosophy and now they have become one of the biggest clubs in the WORLD while all the time spending far less than any other club. WENGER’s problem has always been his lack of willingness to buy players of a certain type to suit the ENGLISH GAME which has cost him so much success. He would defo disagree with me but he has got it wrong imo..He is wrong in his approach to the ENGLISH GAME thesedays. We could easily get it right because we have ARSENAL as a model to work from. I’m sorry to keep rabbiting on about this mate..When I read your comment It made me feel very sad to hear a long time fan like you felling the way you do. For a fan like you to say you’re done with ASTON VILLA FC til things change for the better of the club only serves to prove there are serious problems. The club is losing it fans and that can only be detromental to the future of AVFC. I hope LERNER is reading the comments on blogs and sites like this one. If he’s not then he’s an idiot. He needs to speak with fans and stop taking bad advice from idiots like FAULKNER and others who only tell him what he wants to hear. One thing he can be guarenteed from any fan is the truth about the situation we’re in..I hope he wakes up soon and gives us back our voices..I wish you good luck mate..Sad times at VP atm..hopefully it changes asap.
Me, my brother, sister-in-law and nephew have season tickets in the doug ellis lower, we have had them for the last 8 consecutive seasons, before that I had my season ticket for the previous 12 seasons. None of us are renewing until McLeish has gone! This decision
has not been an easy one but we feel we have to make a stand.
Heather and family from Redditch
Gave him a chance but no more
There is 5 of us on lower Holte. We are not having our season tickets
2 main reasons
Why should I invest in the club if the owner sells all our half decent players and doesn’t replace them and
Mcleish…. While he is there I will not be
Save the villa …….mcleish out
I went to the Fulham home game, but haven’t been since. I guessed right that we wouldn’t win another home game. Next season will be a repeat of this one…except with 25,000 gates at VP….IF LERNER IS LUCKY!!!
not spending half a grand to see villa win 4 times
Theres also another 3 people I know who will not be renewing untill he has gone, lerner and Faulkner are to blame for this horrible mess!…please all 3 get away from our club…….
i travel every week from nottingham an i no longer will be going to vp until mcleish has. i have held a season ticket for the last 5 years and also buying the merchindise but cant stand to watch the negative boring football anymore. my 2 children also keep nagging me to come wiv me but i have told em they would get bored i can go on an on ………………………….
nigel sims;charlie aiken; phil whosnem;harry burrows;jimmy mac;tommy ewing;george graham;;tulip; and manger joe mercer; this is when i first started to follow the villa early sixties? i must have spent thousands on em over the years but not any more.enough is enough this is by far the worst football i have ever seen @ vp.much worse than the two docs { tommy and joe vengloss} with mcleish out the 5 of us will return to the lower holt;i hope its not to long before someone acts on the problem save the villa
whose tommy ewing
he was not a regular first choice but, a decent reserve played on right wing as i remember,
Jimmy Mcewan played right wing, Harry Burrows Left,Tommy Ewing was an inside forward, good tricky player with a eye for a pass, Mercers minors all knew how to play, John Sleeunhoek was my favorite in the early sixties, I actually pllayed with him after he retired, he and Alan Deakin were mates and player managed the team I played for..Sadly John died a few years ago, but was a real nice bloke.
What a sad day when the likes of you and me have to watch the crap that Mcleish is serving up. This clown of a manager really needs to go
Been a visitor to VP since 1984 (aged 8). Had ST’s for a few of them years. Will not dream if getting a ST, whilst McLeish is in charge of footballing matters, and whilst Faulkner is in charge of turning our club into a laughing stock. Made the decision before the start of this season that I would not put any money into this club whilst McLeish was in charge. I, like many others, knew how this season would pan out. And proved right I was. I actually went to the Spurs game, just to protest. I am fortunate at the moment, to be living quite comfortably, and could afford a ST for me and my 11 year old son. But will continue to boycott the club until there are massive changes. Starting with McLeish OUT!!! AND finally, no more cold calls the ticket office please. Fed up with it!
McLeish goes Or i don,t SIMPLES
If I were to not renew, it’s because Paul Faulkner’s an idiot. Lerner needs to get his hands in his pocket and stop selling our best players. We’ve got a boring manager and the fans are mostly a bunch of fickle idiots anyway these days.
When the fans didn’t want McLaren the club didn’t appoint him for that reason, yet with McLeish when we protested this even more you appointed him. Where’s the logic in that? N’zogbia has been an expensive failure, but not as much as McLeish. Get somebody like Roberto Martinez in and he’ll get N’zogbia playing well. If a better manager is not appointed I will not be renewing. It’s only a matter of time before we start blaming the owners, instead of the manager. You’ve been warned, Mr Faulkner.
I love my Aston villa more than u can imagine! European cup final in 82, Highbury in 1981, Div 3 in 1970, a few league cup finals, etc I’ve seen it all! But that’s all I’ve got at the minute ( the past) because I fear for the future big time!
I refuse to waste my hard earned money on a season ticket to sit and watch Mccleish destroy the club I love. I will support my team thru thick and thin and stuck by mccleish and co this season but not again. Get him out and I will return with season ticket purchased, keep him and I will stay away!
Mr Faulkner, I received a call the other day from the club asking if I was going to renew my season ticket of many years in the upper Holte. I told the young lady I was speaking to that I had no intention of renewing whilst the current manager is in charge. I refuse to pay good money to watch some of the worst football I have ever seen down Villa Park. The attendances have gone down by an average of 5k this season and will continue to drop until you appoint a manager who has some tactical nous! If he were manager of any other club of our stature he would of been dismissed ages ago. Look at his statistics as a manager in English football. The records don’t lie!
Three of us in the Lower Holte not renewing while McLeish is here. Also know plenty of other fans who generally go to 4 or 5 games a season are keeping away. 4 home wins out of 19! Negative depressing football. This season if we could’nt make a match we could’nt give the tickets away for free! Sack him and we will renew. McLeish Out.
Was hoping too get 4 season tickets for my family won’t buy till he’s gone simples
I will never be setting foot in my beloved club again while he is in charge!! They have shown us fans no respect so why should we show any to them!! This can’t carry on, they who r in charge r killing our club wiv out a care for the fans? Next season is going to b dire I for one dnt want to see that drivel again! If he stays we should all stay away!!! Plz plz mcleish out we don’t deserve this
Hopefully Mr Faulkner has managed to have a look at a few of these comments, and also at the Season Ticket renewal threads on all Villa websites. The message is simple, If he stays then we still away.
If Lerners mission is to kill the club he is doing a fantastic job!
It is with real regret that I refuse to renew my season ticket of 35 years,Like so many others I love Villa, but until this clown is removed I will not renew. This is the only vote we all have. So far our views are falling on deaf ears, use you vote, don’t renew,Randy Lerners business head will soon rule his heart and Mcleish will be Sacked, Good riddance.
my famiy will not be spending money, to watch a team managed by mcleish , its not the brum thing , its the depression he gives off , we have hated his tacticts from the start and do not enjoy watching his stupid way of ruinning games , faukener t , what a waste of money ! get a proper manager and we will return , untill then hang your head in shame !
I’m another fan who will not be renewing my ticket or buying anything to do with AVFC unless that useless ‘manager’ is sacked. In all divisions even the blue square prem, teams play with more momentum and ideas than a Mcleish side.
It’s been hard but I’ve stuck to my guns and not a single penny of my money has gone to Villa this season. Would consider a season ticket for next season and if not would certainly go to the majority of home games IF he’s gone.
Same goes for merch, I really liked the home shirt this season but refused to buy one and unlike most I’m looking forward to seeing what Macron have lined up for us. While not the biggest spender I’m good for at least a home shirt each season.
If he’s still in charge next season it will only serve to run me off even further. I’ve really missed my football but I know I won’t get any at Villa Park anyway. This season I’ve still kept up with every game on tv but even that has been like a chore and so if the situation is the same next season I think I might seek out my local non-league to get my fill.
Me & my bro won’t be renewing until McLeish is gone. Been going since 1983 but this is easily the worst season i have witnessed. Apart from the majority of the youngsters who have been thrown into the deep end and been asked to play out of position, this is the worst collection of players i’ve ever seen. The football is painful to watch. Ive left at half times 3 times this season because it’s been that bad!! Ive never done that before. There is no excuse for not being able to ask a team to ATTEMPT to play attacking football but this dross is too much to stomach. I’ll be back when the whole club from top to bottom wakes up to its inadequecies. Hope the change starts from the minute that final whistle is blown at carrow road on sunday but will it??
Well done mate. I’m not a ST holder but I get to Villa Park a gd few times every year apart from the last 2 years. I’ve been to VP hundreds of times but I have never lived in the area. I used to get to a lot of away games too. I am really happy to see so many good VILLANS on here talking about the shocking football this year as their reason for not renewing. I hope there are thousands more still not renewing. It’s the only way those in power at our club will ever listen. They have been able to get Villans to renew over and over and then sell them short. All these years people like FAULKNER/LERNER said they wouldn’t sell our best players yet they sold them. We can understand that players cannot be kept at a club if they don’t want to be there but the style of football has to be given to the fans anyway. I read Villans comments online constantly and the over riding issue is the shockingly bad football on show at VP. LERNER needs to wake up now and sort it out so the fans can be happy coming to watch the team again. I don’t believe we need to spend millions upon millions to sort out the club but we do have to get the style of football right to make us more competitive in the EPL. We have so many top young players coming through but McLeish’s style of football doesn’t suit them. It’s almost alien to most of them. lol.. We have a lot of small players who need to be able to pass and move just like Barca/Arsenal do. They would never win the physical battles which we have seen of players like Bannan over the season. How many times has he lost possession going into contact with opposition players? It happens all the time imo. We need a manager who will give the players their heads and also teach them a better way of playing football. I will say it til my tongue falls out of my head that we need to bring one style of football to our club so we have a real identity going forward. We utilise our academy better by getting the coaching structures in place that makes sure every player at AVFC has the technical ability to make it in the EPL or they move on. It is a system that would be very ruthless but it would benefit the club in the longterm..Sorry for boring you all with this lads but It’s something I feel very strongly about after 30yrs as a VILLAN. I believe it will make us really competitive again and will also help us in winning trophies. One style of football is the best way forward for our young players coming through Bodymoor. Yes it’s a longterm approach but how else will we ever have a chance to compete at the top of the EPL again? We are a massive club yet we look like a club that is slowly dying on it’s feet. This didn’t just start with LERNER although he’s making it a whole lot worse now with some crazy decisions over his tenure. This mess was inherited from the previous idiot in charge. It kills me to have to watch what’s going on at VP thesedays. There is no vision from anyone within the club. If there is I would love to hear about it. Are they all yes men in our club thesedays or what? Does anybody have the guts to tell LERNER where he’s going wrong? I doubt it very much..If the fans aren’t listened to this time then the club is in serious danger of falling apart so we have to stay together as fans for the good of our future club. Again I apologise for ranting so much on here..Laters all..KEEP THE FAITH!!! Up The Villa! I’m proud to be a Villan when I read these comments..It makes me believe that change will happen soon when so many Villans want it and are willing to do something about it too..take care all..
I have renewed my season ticket already on the promise that I can get a full refund if Mcleish is still in charge by the start of next season. I’ve renewed to give some false hope to the villa as have a few friends, as I’m sure it’s going to hurt them paying us all back our money just before the season starts. Mcleish out!!
Kris shaw; interesting post, just wondering who told you that you can get a full refund if he is still in charge, and do they know something we don’t yet?
£500 for 4 wins? That’s £125 per win!
Having supported AV for 40 years, I have never seen a manager with such a negative approach to playing football. What I do not understand it was clear he destroyed Blues, yet we took him on. can it be we are owned and run by people who have no understanding of the game ?. I will now keep my money in my pocket until we see some changes.
just went onto the official villa homepage and for the first time ever from today, they now have a twitter page on villa on the right hand side…all the comments are coming on live and all massively anti mcleish…and this is on the villa home website….get the meesages on there people……ASTON VILLA FOREVER!!!
I had renewed a few weeks back but recently cancelled it and got a refund. Why should I pay my hard earned money into a club where the owner tries to recoup every penny and the manager is a defensive clueless moron who is taking the club one direction downwards been a season ticket holder 20 years and go 75% of the away games, until this muppet has been removed of his duties i see no reason to renew and spoil my weekends. I support the team till I die but I do not support the owner and management of my beloved club
JUST GET OUT OF OUR CLUB MCLEISH! IF YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE YOU WILL WALK AWAY NOW!! MY GOD WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT YOU ARE TO YOUR FAMILY!!!!
WHAT A FOOL
BY THE WAY – LERNER OUT TOO!!!
This season has destroyed not only thrf teams performance but turning villa fans againist each other . But now ALL VILLA FANS stand united in agreeing on one thing ” Mcleish needs the sack ” Listen to your fans who you want money from . Save our club
Fair enough wanting Mcleish out but Lerner has been a great owner and doesn’t deserve the stick your giving him, the man has put a fortune into Villa, only to see MON completely blow it on players like NRC, Curtis Davies and Emille Heskey ffs
At last……the wait is over. Hope for the fture once more
Morons one and all. The calibre of the writing on here says it all (not to mention the terrible grammar, punctuation and spelling mistakes!). It takes more than a good man at the helm of the team to make a successful Premier League club. McLeish had next to nothing to work with, yet he still managed to keep your sorry load of arses in the Premier League. You’re only going one way next season and that is down – Lerner’s a clown for making this decision. If he’d backed McLeish with serious money, he would have got you top ten this season for sure – and thats about as good as you guys can hope for. Your pathetic dislike of McLeish because he came from City means you got from this season what you deserve. Enjoy #strugglingformediocrity
McLeish will be back and will prove you all wrong.
Ricardo – A Rangers fan.
Our dislike came from his poor record with us! Get your facts right before you come on here and spout bollocks
Shite – play that card all you like. Lets see which way you spin it next year when you spiral towards the bottom 3. you’re destined for relegation because you’ve lost track of what loyalty means. you’re collective behaviour towards mcleish this year was, quite frankly, a disgrace.
This is a message to the good people who stood up against LERNER, FAULKNER 7 McLeish this year. You deserve every bit of credit for standing by your convictions. You took so much abuse from so many Villa fans this year mate but you took it on the chin when others may have folded. You didn’#t and what we have seen today is the fans of our great club taking control back. Finally the idiots running our club have listened and it hasn’t come soon enough. A friend told me about 5 mins ago that McLeish had been sacked. I didn’t come online all day b’cos I didn’t want anymore disappointment like it’s been all season.
I’ll carry on emailing the club now with ideas for taking the club forward in the longterm. We have seen nothing but short term measures over the last 2/3 decades and it’s time to build from the ground up. We need a good young manager with the vision and hunger to take us forward and one day maybe win this League title again. It is possible if we all believe together. I think very logically thesedays about our club and I truly believe we can do it if we set about completely and radically changing the whole football philosophy at our club.
It’s a longterm vision I see ahead of us and every Villan will have to show patience but If we stay calm, get the right coaching structures in place and bring in a manager like MARTINEZ, RODGERS OR POYET then I believe we can get back to the top of the Lge within the next 10yrs.
Now before you all start having a go at me? Football isn’t rocket science. It’s a very easy game if it’s coached in the right style. We have the best young players in the ENGLISH GAME coming through but the coahing needs to be better. Yes we have won the southern division of the RESERVE Lge 4 of the last 5 yrs but we haven’t moved these young players on to the standard required to compete in the EPL. That is definitely the fault of the coaching systems at AVFC imho. I don’t like having a go at the coaches but there needs to be a universal coaching style which gives every young player at Villa Pk the technical skills to succeed at Villa Pk. What I really envisage is our young players going to places like ANFIELD, OLD TRAFFORD, STAMFORD BRIDGE, MAN CITY, ARSENAL, etc and being able to keep possession for long periods of each game. It is possible but it will take patience from all sides now. We, the fans, must play our part from now on. We must give huge confidence to all our young players once they make the breakthrough into the 1st team. I watched the UNDER-19′s in THE NEXT GEN SERIES and they played some brilliant football but they came up short when it mattered because they couldn’t keep possession for longer periods in games. ENGLISH football is played at a hundred miles an hour and we have to be able to stand up to the pressures of it. As it is right now, we cannot. Our playres have looked woefully out of their dept in all matches this year and that has to change now. It’s up to LERNER/FAULKNER to bring in a manager who also brings with him the right style of play that every fan at Villa Pk craves.
If we could bring in ROBERTO MARTINEZ or BRENDAN RODGERS then I’m certain they would bring about massive changes within the 1st few yrs which would put us on track to being a successful winning club again. There has almost been a losing mentality at Villa Pk for years now. Some of you may not like hearing this but it’s the truth. I get so angry when some Villans say we are not a big club anymore. We are a massive club still but the losing mentality has plagued us for too long and it has to change right now. Every Villan should expect success from the club. We don’t need to spend exhorbitant sums to find a successful formula imo but we must get the coaching structures right from this point onwards. It’s not pie in ther sky stuff lads. It’s a real possibility if LERNER brings in the right manager. Lerner also needs to be more open and hinest with all of the supporters from now on too. He has kept us in the dark over long periods of his reign and imo it has only swrved to create more of a mess than it should have. He has to allow us to begin a fans forum within VP so we can meet with those in power at least once every month so we can begin a dialogue which will bring back the trust that hs been lost between himself and us. the fans. If he was to give us a voice within our club then we would be more understanding to the clubs needs I’m sure. I have emailed the club at least twice every week for the last 2yrs now and I will continue until LERNER hears my calls for absolute change of how we run the club. I’m not a coach or anything like that but I do understand the problems between the fans and the owner Mr Lerner. He has to give us a chance to prove we can help make ASTON VILLA FC successful again in the future. I hear so many fans talk about our proud HISTORY but the club has never taken into consideration the future at all as far as I can see. We overspent with huge transfers and massive wage demands when all we really needed was a better coaching system. I have said it so many times that we must poach at least 1/2 top coaches from EURTOPEAN CLUBS. We may have to pay them a better salary than they are currently on at their clubs now but it would be worth it if we could poach a top coach from BARCELONA or AJAX. They have the complete knowhow when emparting their knowledge of possession style football to every player coming through a club. I’m not advocating sacking our existing coaches but this top coach would oversee the whole change in football philosophy at Bodymoor Heath so that every player who comes through our systems will have the skill/technique to stand on his own 2 feet in the longterm. We are bringing through some really good young players but they struggle to keep possession in the EPL. That has gotta be down to the style of coaching in ENGLAND imo. I don’t know if any of you Villans agreew ith me on that but my minds not for changig now..I am going to keep emailing pour club to see if they can work towards bringing in this top coach we need to make our players better. It is a longterm approach but what other options are open to us at this point. We don’t have big money to spend on big name signings and I am glad about that at least. It means people at our club need to look at other options and m ine is a good one I think. We will constantly produce top players from now on if they use these sorts of ideas imo. When you look at teams like SWANSEA in the EPL, they won more games through keeping possession. RODGERS spoke so well on this idea when he was on MOTD2 a few weeks ago. He spoke about teams without big money using the possessiomn game to get ahead in this Lge and I agree with him 100%. I would love ASTON VILLA to bring in a top young hungry manager like RODGERS because I believe he will help our young players to improve the technical side of their games beyond anything we could expect from other young managers..MARTINEZ is not going to come now after turning us down last year but he would definitely do a similar job for us. SWANSEA & WIGAN finished aboive us for one reason and one reason only Villans..They play a far better style of football that allows their players to keep possession for long poeriods of the game. With either of these 2 managers we would easily improve next season. Yes it will be hard for any manager coming in but he has to be one of maybe 4 top young managers imo. Some Villans are calling for LAMBERT? I like PAUL LAMBERT but I’m not sure about his style of football. It reminds me more of MON’s counter attacking style and we have had enough of that to do us a lifetime imho. So it would leave either RODGERS, MARTINEZ or GUS POYET. Every one of these 3 men value the technical side of the game for me and that’s why I would be choosing one of thwem If It was me who had to make the choice. Personally I would always plump for BRENDAN RODGERS. SWANSEA have looked so good this year. Imagine what he could do with our resources at VP even if they are somewhat lighter than previous years. He will make our young players a much better class of player in the longterm. I hope LERNER is at least going to try to briong in one of the 3 managers mentioned. I will probably get lots of stick for saying no to PAUL LAMBERT. He is a good coach and won honours at the highest level of the game as a player but his style of football is not for me. Maybe he will get the job and I will look foolish for saying this. If so I will put my hand up and apologise to the man.
I was also very surprised to see so many things written in the papers on our AVFC official website yest and today. McLeish was looking like a dead duck adn it transpired that way.
All I ever wanted from my club was a longterm vision going forward. I do believe that every fan will show patience if the right manager is brought in. I don’t like this idea of COMOLI though. He has a bads record of player aquisitions imho but I’m looking at his record from the outside which always makes a judgement harder. I don’t have a problem with a DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL but it needs to be an appointment that helps the club llongterm. I would like to see someone from EUROPE come in, someone with a proven track record of getting really top young players with technical abilities. I’m asking too much I suppose but it has to be about the longterm vision for us all from now on. The SHORT TERM MEASURES didn’t work and now is the time to make the radical changes for the betterment of everyone concerned with ASTON VILLA FC..
Apologies for boring the arse of everyone with this..I want what’s best for the longterm future of AVFC..That’s all…There’s a long hard road ahead of us all and once we get the manager we all are happy with we will have to be patient with him and the team. I truly hope every Villa fan is willing to show that patience for the good of everyone at the club. Like I said it depends on the manager and also the style of play he brings with him..Laters all…
Thanks again McLeish_Out..All your hard graft finally paid off mate..True CLARET & BLUE! Long live freedom of speech!…Lmao
cock.
Who are U calling a COCK? Me?? Is it me U used that expletive at? That’s a bit unfaiur my friend..Are U a Villan or maybe ur a,,,, bluenose?????
The guy is a complete dud who has walked out of every job he’s ever had – Motherwell, Hibs, Rangers, Scotland and Birmingham – but always to his financial benefit. How can he possibly ever talk about loyalty to a player?
The irony is he will retire a very rich man – £ml to join Villa and god knows how much compensation for his first sacking.
